05/04 - Our 10th wedding anniversary

In the US it's called "tin wedding", in Europe it's "rose wedding"... and traditionally the wife gets some red roses from her husband... 10 red roses... one for each year.

We decided to spend this day in Ticinio... a good decision, cuz the weather here's bad and in the south it's said to be much better...

We arrived in Ascona on Tuesday around 5 pm... and the weather was perfect... sunny and warm... the hotel's direct at the beginning of the car-free zone of the city... we checked in and got out to make a little walk along the lake.

Wassup??

It's wonderful to walk along the boardwalk, having a drink in one of the many street cafes... enjoying the weather and the time with the love of your life...

There are a lot of restaurant in the old part of the village with all those narrow lanes.... we chose one where we got some fantastic pizza and lasagne... a very pleasant evening, still warm after the sundown. That's the way I like it.

On Wednesday we did a cruise on the Lago Maggiore with one of the boats which took us to the city of Luino where's a market every Wednesday...

Leavin Ascona

They've the usual stuff like shoes, t-shirts and all the things you'll never need in your life... but there's also a part where they sell food... that's the part I definitely liked most... all those dried fruits, salami, cheese, olives, ham....

Walkin through the streets of Luino

Nuts, almonds, pistachios etc.

After a nice stay the boat took us back to Ascona where we again had some pasta and pizza before we took our car to drive home...

A special day that we both enjoyed... the sun was shinin today as it was 10 years ago when we got married.... thx for these wonderful years....
