Quai d'Orsay Corona 2001

A while back we talked about this cigar and when I met Tom some time ago he handed me out three of those to try them....

Colorado claro colored.... fine wrapper with some veins...a decent smell of grass, wood and tobacco.

Seems like a light smoke and this'll fit to what I heard about it....

The first puffs give you the impression of grass, green tee and after a while something which is a bit "cheese-like"... hard to describe... I know this taste from some Diplomaticos... it's not unpleasant but definetly very special. At this time it's a light to medium bodied smoke....

The second third comes up with some aromas which can be described best with the taste of mushrooms.... mixed with some white pepper and hints of vanilla from time to time.... Some people describe this cigar as one-dimensional, for me it is definetly not. The smoke is smooth and creamy.... nice to nose-exhale it and get the full flavor....

The last third gets really spicey and woody.... some notes of leather.... wow... this is no light smoke for sure... it's a nice medium bodied cigar with an interesting profile.... it's a bit harsh in the end and I'd say you can give them some more years to rest and settle down....

The draw was perfect (for me) all the time, the ash firm. Smoking time was about 80 minutes.
