Taboada Custom Rolled Robusto Extra 2007

The wrapper of this Custom Rolled cigar is a dark colorado, it's matt with some veins. Tobacco and woody notes dominate the cold smell of the cigar.

Firing up, cutting and taking the first puffs. Very woody.... some white pepper... and a biting taste, not very intrusive but present. It get's smoother after the first half inch, but it's replaced now by a strange taste in the background which is hard to describe but it's somehow unpleasant. Very strong woody is maybe a description for it....

The second third gets.... better.... an intensive taste of dark and strong Espresso, added by bitter chocolate, some almond flavor.... roasted coffee beans... fresh roasted....

Surprisingly the last third gets smoother and creamy.... something like a milk coffee.... milk chocolate, because coffee and chocolate flavors are still there.... in the end there is another aroma which seems to be a bit moldy....

Let's sum it up: started strange and ended up well..... solid smoke... but I've to confess that I'd better Taboadas in the past...

Smoking time was 105 minutes with an always perfect draw.
