A visit to... Bruichladdich

Bruichladdich - another stop that we made during our trip. I think it's not necessary to say much about this distillery which has been brought back to the glory of the old days by their Master Distiller Jim McEwan. Think about him what you want but it cannot be denied that he made a great job at his distillery which was reopened again in the year 2000, when Jim and some of his partner bought it.

Bruichladdich started distilling again, released a lot of special bottlings, wood finishes... made experiments... revived the forgotten brands Port Charlotte and Octomore...

Beside the Laddie Ten and a 21 yo. Rum cask finish that I had after my arrival at the distillery I also took part in the warehouse tasting after the distillery tour.

It was a pleasure to enjoy some outstanding wee drams of
  • Bourbon Cask 23 yo.
  • Port Charlotte 7 yo. Grenache Cask finish
  • Octomore 10 yo. Chateau Yquem Cask finish

A great experience and a lot of people who showed their enthusiam for the product Single Malt Whisky.

Now pour in a dram, sit back and enjoy some of the pictures I made there...
