A visit to... Caol Ila

Caol Ila - one of the whiskys I really love... but the distillery itself is not one of the nicest places on Islay to visit... 6.5 million liters of pure alcohol every year... that's a helluva output, with the biggest part of it for the Blended Whisky industry. Due to the fact that Caol Ila belongs to Diageo there's a "no-pictures-policy" as in all others of their distilleries, due to this there are not much pictures.

The tour itself is not very spectacular, they don't show much, don't explain much... after 15 minutes we're done, took a few drams (which were not too bad) and left... interesting to see but not necessary to go there a second time...

Oh, before I forget it... we also got some drams after the tour, the best part of the whole thing even though they're not too impressive:
  • 12 yo.
  • Distiller's Edition
  • Moch

Luckily I have some nice bottlings from Independents at home which are way better...
