Upmann Magnum 50 EL 2005

Dark colorado colored matter with a decent oily shine... an awesome smell of wood, leather and tobacco...

I guess it'll be a very intensive smoke flavorwise... and that's what's proved after firing it up... very intensive aroma of wood (cedar and oak), dark roasted espresso and some hints of leather. Wow... what a start.

During the 2nd third the cigar gets smoother... there's creamy espresso now... notes of cacao, still some cedar wood but not as intensive as in the beginning... a very pleasant mix of herbs and spices... it's hard to define it more precisely...

With the beginning of the last third white pepper emerges outta that spicy mix and charcterizes the last third together with intensive notes of leather and tobacco. Some oak and cedar aromas are coming up again, added by a pronounced earthiness which's totally in the foreground now until the very end...

Perfect draw over the smoking time of 105 minutes... rich in variety of aromas.... what else to ask for?
