Romeo y Julieta Cazadores 1996

Opening the folio around this cigars reveals a smell of leather, polished wood and tree bark... dark colorado colored with some veins... rustic-style... a decent oily shine on it...

The Cazadores starts with a lot of woody flavors and a mix of exotical spices, very intensive... It's getting peppery after a while, white pepper... with some leather in the background.

The flavor of leather is also there in the second third, earthy flavors are joining and get more and more intensive. Those aromas interweave and are now the background for the flavor of black tea which gets more and more present.

The last third... really strong... dark roasted espresso, bitter chocolate, wood and leather... think of the age of this cigar: 16 yo. and still so strong... complex... and a real pleasure.

This one definitely needs a good meal before, unfortunately the Cazadores between 2000 and 2008 weren't like this... the 2010s and 2011s seem to get back to the roots... justifying the reputation that the Cazadores is one of the strongest cigars...
