Rhine Falls, Switzerland

The Rhine Falls is one of the 3 biggest waterfalls in Europe. This year the water level is very low for this time of the year, a consequence of this hot and dry summer (about which I don't want to complain).

Usually the amount of water flowing down in the summer time is about 600 m3/s (~158'500 gal/s)  and 250 m3/s (~66'000 gal/s) in the winter time. During this visit it was just 190 m3/s (50'200 gal/s).

Luckily I was there early enough to avoid the big crowds of tourists and I walked some quiet paths along the River Rhine when more and more busses arrived.

Enjoy the pictures and let me take you to a virtual trip to the Rhine Falls... a designated smoking spot with a great view...
